1997 Bentley Azure | The Summer Serenade Auction | 18th July

The Bentley Azure was launched in 1995 and quickly became a distinguished and desirable addition to the Bentley family. The Azure was based on the hugely successful platform of the Continental R Coupé which had itself been launched just a few years before hand. The Azure, as with its fixed roof sibling, graced us once more with both presence and sophistication whilst allowing comfortable seating of four adult passengers in convertible format. Power came from the company's stalwart 6.75 litre, V8 featuring a single intercooled turbocharger producing in the region of 380bhp and capable of 0-60mph in an impressive 6.1 seconds. Owing to the limited space at Bentley's Crewe factory, the Azure was designed and manufactured by Pininfarina, and whilst this significantly added to the vehicle's production cost, the resultant production vehicle was nothing short of stunning. From 1999, the Azure was also available in 'Mulliner Trim' thus allowing the buyer the option for further factory customisation during the build process. Pricing varied as equipment could be significantly different from one car to the next depending on personal preference.

This three former keeper example presented in Foreglow Red with Cotswold leather is complemented beautifully with deep red piping and further enhanced with matching deep red detail throughout the cabin. Together with matching carpeting and contrasting black hood, this really does present in a classic traditional style for the era. The secondary carpets and hood are all in very good condition for the age, and upon consignment all electrics work as they should.
