Few cars encapsulate the optimism and ingenuity of post-war Italy quite like the Fiat 600. Introduced in 1955, this diminutive rear-engined saloon became one of the defining symbols of the Italian economic miracle, bringing affordable, practical motoring to millions. Fiat's first rear-engined production car, the 600 measured just 10ft 7in in length yet offered remarkable accommodation within its compact footprint. Produced until 1969, with more than 2.6 million examples leaving the Mirafiori factory in Turin, the model remains an enduring icon of Italian automotive design and one of the most charming classics of its era.
This delightful 1967 example is finished in an attractive shade of blue complemented by contrasting red interior. Recent recommissioning work includes; cleaning of the fuel tank and fuel system, together with the installation of new brake shoes, wheel cylinders and a replacement master cylinder. As the car has covered very few miles since these works were completed, it should be noted that some further light recommissioning may be required before regular road use. Supplied with a V5 registration document and a history file containing copies of the original Italian registration documents. Consigned by Stewart Banks.
