According to its documented history, Chassis 28297 was supplied new by the renowned French importer Charles Pozzi in 1979. Originally finished in a sophisticated palette of Silver over a Beige leather interior, the car spent its earliest days in Europe before undergoing a significant transformation.

In January 1980, with approximately 28,000 km on the odometer, the car sustained minor rear-right damage. It was sent to Vaccari in Italy for repair, at which time the owner elected to perform a series of period-correct enhancements. During this stay in Italy, the car was professionally refinished in the quintessential Rosso Corsa over a Nero (Black) leather interior and fitted with its distinctive BB LM-type wide-body wheel arches.
