Say you run a small business and need transport to deliver your goods and visit your customers. One plus one makes two, so why not go for a van or pick up that stands out and brings a smile to people’s faces? Richard Edmonds Auctions has two of these exact cars for sale in their sale this Saturday in The Old Laundry in Chippenham. To stay close to their home, we start with lot number 1926: a Morris Minor pickup. Both the Minor Van as the Pickup variant differed from the saloon cars by having a separate chassis, which made them surprisingly strong load carriers. The car on sale dates back to 1970 and was first registered in Eastbourne, East Sussex. It must have worked hard as it ended up in a scrapyard by the end of the century. But the current owner came to the rescue with a full restoration starting in the new Millennium, much of which was carried out by East Sussex Minors, keeping it close to its origins. Half of the panels is still said to be original, and all improvements that were required, have been carried out to a high standard including work to the chassis and a full re-spray. It’s ready for use now with full MOT and an estimate of £7- to 8,000. Description here.
Now, the Minor Pickup is easy to love and your business will get plenty of thumbs up wherever it goes in the UK, whether you run a garage or a steam cleaner's. But what if your business is selling wines or champagnes, cheese or chocolates, baguettes or croissants, soufflés or macarons? The Citroen 2CV Van may then just be the thing for your company. Don’t worry the local speedbumps as you will know that this car was meant to transport a crate of eggs on the passenger seat across a ploughed field without breaking any. This AK400 – 400 kilograms being the load capacity - received a new chassis about six years ago and looks fabulous in French Blue. It’s said to have had only two owners so far and is also MOT’d and ready for use. It’s estimated to sell slightly cheaper (£6- to 7,000) and all information can be found here. Which would have to be your company car?
