Barefoot standing on two Renaults – but why?

We do not always understand photographers. In their quest to produce an image of immortality they often come up with strange ideas. Just look at the number of pictures used to illustrate interviews of people casually standing on chairs, tables or whatever available. Er... cars, for example. 

This image can be placed easily and without question in that group. We just wonder: why? Was it a PR shot? It certainly seems so. Perhaps just one to please the art editors of the more out of the ordinary magazines at the time..?
