Borgward Saloon a Mille Miglia car? (upd. DKW as well)

We tend to think in Maserati, Ferrari, Porsche, Jaguar and all the well known exotics when talking about Mille Miglia. But many cars with lesser pedigree participated. And often doing quite well in the end results. Not often have we heard of the famous and nearly indestructible saloons built by Borgward in the fifies in this respect. Still in 1958 Borgward was   class winner in the hands of team  Hartmann & Kalter. Moreover they won several mountain tests.   And if you're still not completely convinced, check this historic film material.
