"My Dad owned a Vauxhall 12 from around 1945, and I remember the whole family thought it was 'posh' because it was fast, quiet, and very comfortable. Dad always put his cars to the test on some of our mountain passes in Cumbria, and I don't remember the Vauxhall failing us."
This is just one example of the many memories each one of us has from our early days. Why is it that people see their cars as a member of the family and even have some sort of emotional relationship with them? We could refer to our bookshelves filled with psychological and sociological volumes, but maybe it's best if you try to find out for yourself. An easy way to do this is a new book called "My Vauxhall and I" that has just been published by Vauxhall in celebration of their 110th birthday. Writer Richard Benson delved into the Vauxhall archives and found many letters from people telling how the automobile touched their lives. If you have a Vauxhall story to tell or like to read about them, go to Vauxhall's timeline and take a trip down memory lane.
