Cafe Cruising in Essen: 1947 Fiat 1500 Ghia Villa d'Este

It is by all means the sensation of the Techno Classica Essen. Found in a northern american farmhouse and now presented at the stand of ASI at the Techno Classica. Between all the glitz and shine and the acres of restored 300SLs and early 911s there was one bright (blue) star. The 1947 Fiat 6C 1500 with a body commissioned specifically for Villa d'Este in pure and scruffy condition with a sixties $100 blast-over giving the car a nice ratty appearance. We understand it was sold already and will no doubt appear in super glitzy appearance at the greens of Pebbles or Amelia within one or two year. The restoration will probably do more justice to the orginal concours concept of Ghia, but the fun will be gone of course, check the original leather interior. Can you image turning up at a local garden restaurant with this oily rag concours cruiser? And after parking checking a front tire after lifting one of the 4 feet long hinged wheel covers. Wow, this is the real deal postwar cafe-cruiser.
