The “three Ls” of retail sales are location, location, location. However, when location alone isn’t enough, you must catch the eye. This hot dog vendor in Portland, Connecticut, last summer took that two steps further, with a vending caravan that apes the Oscar Meyer wienermobile and a bright yellow Checker taxicab. The Checker looks like a circa-1970 Model A-12, with styling that was almost unchanged from 1956 to the end of production in 1982. We don’t know what to make of the virtual passengers.
