Comes with bells and whistles

Back in the sixties the London’s Metropolitan realized that their normal patrol cars weren’t a match for 100mph speeders and getaway cars of the day. So they bought a Daimler SP250 with a powerful V8 that would be a match against the road hogs. Mindful of the deterrent effect, the car was first demonstrated to the public on the streets of London before starting its patrol duties - hood down and fully uniformed officers ensuring fair play! But it was so successful that a total of 26 SP250’s were bought by the Metropolitan Police to bolster their high-speed arsenal. After this one was retired from the police force in 1967, it was used for 13 years as an official course car at the Goodwood Revival. Still equipped with its bells and whistles, this 1962 Daimler SP250 will be auctioned by Historics on October 22nd.
