Looking for a proper set of wheels for next year’s Mille Miglia? Why not consider the rare, race-bred 1949 Ferrari 166 MM Touring Barchetta that was originally commissioned for the 1949 Paris Motor Show. Painted in the Argentinean racing colors of yellow and blue, the Barchetta made its racing debut at the 1950 Mar del Plata in Argentina, finishing an impressive first overall. It was also raced the 1951 Mille Miglia, where it was driven by well-known female driver Aprile Palmer, who purchased the car shortly afterwards. Today the Ferrari 166 is finished in red. She will be the star attraction at RM’s Arizona sale to be held on January 20-21, 2011, which gives you plenty of time to prepare for the Mille Miglia.
