1950 BRM Type 15: an iconic sports car with 1,5L, V16 and 600 hp!

One of the most impressive examples of automotive engineering is the 1950 BRM. This British Racing Motors has a V16 with only 1.5 litre and produces more than 600 hp! Yes, you don't need many litres to get that output.

The end of a Detroit landmark as Packard bridge collapses

The Packard plant was built in 1903 and was in use until 1956 when the motoring manufacturer stopped producing cars. The bridge was built in 1939 and had in recent years become a symbol of urban ruin in Detroit. Unfortunately, it has collapsed now.

Back to back: Lagonda or Delahaye?

Britain versus France has always been a favourite comparison. Still, in the late-1940s and early 1950s, you could find similarities in the upper echelons of both country’s motoring products. For example. From Britain we have a 1951 Lagonda 2.6-Litre Drophead Coupé, France sends a 1948 Delahaye 135 M Cabriolet.

We received some great old pictures of 356s and 550s towing skiers over frozen lakes. Did we know this was in fact a popular sport in the 1950s? Car races on frozen tracks pulled huge crowds in the middle of the 20th century.
