With a full force auctions gale storming over Paris last weekend, we’d almost forget that there are other auctions elsewhere in the world. That’s until the news of a sale in New Delhi reached us.

This brilliant shot gave us some food for thought. It’s driver Tony Fall in overalls and looking to the camera in what has to be the 1973 Daily Mirror RAC rally, driven in and around York. Fall drove with Mike Wood as a co-driver but the duo didn’t finish due to an accident that year.

The car is an Opel with signature 'GG' plates from the factory. We're quite sure this one is part of the Kapitan, Diplomat and Admiral family but surely some of you with some more knowledge in this particular field will be able to tell.

A beautiful photo of a car driving in the mountains, we see that more often. But as far as we know, we haven’t seen this particular type before. The make is easy as it is one of the most luxurious makes you see at many car shows and this car is only built in a small number.
