This picture was taken in 1958 when the US Vice-president Richard Nixon visited Peru in South-America. As his official car he was given this Edsel, but as we know that might have not been the happiest of choice. Within seconds after this picture was taken, Nixon was being showered with eggs and tomatoes by demonstrators. Nixon later joked: "They were throwing eggs at the car, not at me!". He should have been glad they were not throwing lemons!
