French sports oddballs in St. Raphael

Earlier this autumn Karel Vermeer visited Saint-Raphael, a small harbor town in southern France. He was just in time for the annual car show, where the locals show their (mostly) French classic cars. Of course he took some pictures but focused on several exceptional, seldom seen French sports cars. Shown above is an early Alpine. Below are from left to right a CG based on Simca; a Matra Djet; a Simca 1200S and the last one is a Renault Alpine. We tried to find some more information about this car show on the web but the only thing that came up was this YouTube video of the 2009 event made by Tibor Spiegel. Yet it gives a good impression of the show. Time to make holiday plans!
