Jaguar Land Rover sells estates and children’s cars

Do you remember that extraordinary British car collection of a man named James Hull some years ago? We wrote about it back in 2014 when the whole of it was offered for sale for 100 million pounds.

We don’t know if that eventually was the price paid, but the collection did get sold. And not to any collector. The new curator became JLR – Jaguar Land Rover, who must have been lured into it with a plethora of Jaguar cars, among them a genuine C-type, D-type and XKSS.

Fast forward almost four years and JLR have made up their minds and now announce to sell 100 cars from their collection in auction, the majority of which comes from the former Hull-collection. Hang on, about half of them are children’s cars, but that still leaves plenty of proper four-wheelers. There is a remarkable amount of estate cars in the sale. Ford Cortina Estate, Morris 1100 Estate, Ford Zodiac Estate, Lada Riva Estate, Morris Ital camper van, Peugeot 403 Commerciale, Vauxhall Velox Estate, Vauxhall Victor Estate. Some of them are quite special, too. How about a good looking Rover P6 ‘Estoura’ by FLM Panelcraft. A rare car. And then there’s a Reliant Scimitar that was converted by Ferguson to a 4x4 prototype. Did they plan a successor of the Jensen FF Interceptor? It seems like it. The full catalogue can be seen here.
