Just how original was Vauxhall’s XVR?

If you are going to visit the Footman James Classic Motor Show next week, don't forget to pop in at the Vauxhall stand. The company is preparing for their 110th anniversary and will bring several cars from their Heritage Center. One Vauxhall that hasn't been seen much is the sole-survivor of three prototypes made in the sixties by David Jones, then Vauxhall's Head of Design. It's looks very aggressive, yet we doubt if it's a very original design. Not only because the gull-wing doors were used before, but we also see shades of the 1965 Mako-Shark. Yet the pop-up headlamps were and idea that was transferred to the Opel GT, introduced two years later.
