New rules for advertising stopped! (April 1: Thank you for your support!)

UPDATE: thank you all for your warm response. It is great that so many out there feel connected with what we're doing. In the same way we feel connected to you out there working in thousands of workshops to preserve automotive history. We are a real community together and Yes! we must confess that this time it was a first of April set-up in a long tradition of PWC April Fool's editions. This does not take away the fact that there are many dangers for our hobby. Let's stand together and face the issues and open up new opportunities. Glad to know you are all awake !

Amsterdam based PostWarClassic and PreWarCar are facing difficult times. As per today the Dutch government has put into effect a new set of rules for advertising media. One of these rules is that we may no longer allow wrecks in adverts (either due to accident or long time of non-use). We received legal notice to close down both the pre-war section 'Barnfind classic cars for sale' and the post-war section 'Project classic cars for sale' within 5 business days.  The reasoning behind this ridiculous rule - primarily set up for much more modern vehicles - is safety and environment: wrecks should be scrapped so that especially these can no longer be restored and thus prevent future safety and pollution issues. Of course we do not agree with this bizarre rule that has been forced upon us without any form of consultation. This will seriously affect the existence, even survival, of our two websites, not to mention the hobby in general. Thus we need your help! Let us know you don't agree and send us your protest! We will collect them and offer them to the government.
