There are some place you’d rather not visit because they are a pain in the back to get to. One such spot is where the batteries in your editors MGA are located. For some reason the designers thought it wise to put the batteries at the mid of the chassis, 2 six-volt ones, one on each side to spread the weight. After a year of happy starting (two? Perhaps three?) they suddenly went dead as a doornail after a cold spell of some weeks. To get at those batteries you need to remove the side curtains, which in my case are always stored in the bag, get rid of the top, get away with the spare wheel which protrudes in that particular area and the lift the battery cover. Then you’ll see a dark place with lots of cauliflower due to severe neglect ;-0
Lifting the batteries is heavy work, not because they are terribly heavy but you have to lean in a awkward position to get them out. The batteries are now charging, so we’ll report back when everything will be well again and we can drive happily for another year (two, perhaps three?)
