Prewar this Italian man did well in races but he was also a very good engineer. He had a good knowledge of Fiat engines and after moving to France he became head of the Simca racing department. He did well in improving the engine’s performance, which earned him his nickname: ‘The Sorcerer’ or ‘The Wizard’. Postwar he started manufacturing racing cars under his own name, but his company folded not long after. In 1957 he went to work for another French automobile company, where for many years his name was added to several performance models of that company. Can you tell us the make and the model name?
Write it down, but please DO NOT send us your answer before the last puzzle has been published. Of course you can contact us on all other topics, because our office is always staffed! From the participants with all answers correct, six names will be drawn at random. All six winners will receive the famous PostWarClassic T-shirt. Good luck and if you like quizzes, try your hand at the PreWarCar Christmas Quiz. Enjoy this holiday season!
