The organizers of Rétromobile have announced that Citroën is going to be the highlighted marque for their 44th classic car show in Paris, early next year. They write: “French automobile manufacturer Citroën will be the star of the 2019 show in honour of its 100th birthday. André Citroën was a pioneer and a visionary – he designed timeless models and was one of the first people to use the Eiffel Tower as an advertising aid: his company's logo adorned three of the tower’s sides from 1925 to 1934.”
And to celebrate that they’ve included both the Eifel Tower as well as a distinctive Citroën model – the Traction Avant - in this year’s poster. No doubt there will be lots of Tractions to feast your eyes on in the Paris Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre from February 6 to 10 next year. Knowing the French show always comes up with plenty of real rarities we can’t stop wondering already about what to expect for 2019. There must be lots of coachbuilt Citroëns in private French collections, which we’ve never seen before (how about this one – for sale at the moment?). We also wondered what the more eccentric Citroëns are that you are looking forwards to seeing in Paris.
