Swede memories

By now it is almost 100% certain that Saab as a manufacturer cannot be saved anymore. However Saab Parts, has been kept out of the bankruptcy, so they can continue to supply parts for the hundreds of thousands (millions?) of Saabs that are still around. Hopefully somebody is able to acquire the name as well and do something good with it. From the pre-war prototype and the post-war UrSaab, via the types 92; 93 and onwards to the type 99 they were a pleasure to look at. And who can ever forget Erik Carlsson thrashing his Saab around the rally tracks? We think that a company that has made such different design still deserves a place on the road.

Editor RB never owned a Saab, but has driven several and has fond memories of each an everyone of them. Editor JB owned a 1963 two-stroke, also known as the 'Poor Man's Jag' (mkII): "The best memory with that car is that you could notice strong crosswinds only by looking at the cars ahead. In town the free-wheel offered clutchfree gearchange."
The super Swede is history. Let us know if you have great Saab memories.
