Shoot the Salt

A huge yearly event is the Bonneville Speed Week at Salt Lake City (Utah). This year it will be held from 13th - 19th August and already many participants have entered in an attempt to raise the Land Speed Record. This year there’s an unlikely contender: a small Renault 4L ‘Fourgeonete’ van, known as “Saline4Fun” (‘saline’ is French for salt flat). As part of the festivities planned to mark the 50th anniversary of the Renault 4 it was created by the team of ‘Les Triplettes de Bonneville'. Their Renault has been given a 290hp engine to try and reach the straight-line speed of 280kph! If you’re going to the salt flats, do cheer them on!
