Tough to crack car puzzle #119

Alright. The time has come for a new puzzle, after last week’s - ahem - disappointment. But let’s not look back and carry on. Yes, we have erased the signature bonnet badge on the car above as that would have made this puzzle too easy. So what have we got? A sharply but very simply styled two-seat sportscar with absolutely no frills. The base vehicle is a very sporty car but this version is a one-off built by a prolific coachbuilder in the late 1950s. Unlike the coachbuilder the car survived to this day. In fact it was seen last summer at an event or two, next to sister cars of a more common type. The short wheelbase was unaltered and the windscreen looks to be the rear screen of another car (guesses encouraged).
