Tough to Crack Car Puzzle #194

This weeks puzzle can be anything, from an American Sports car to an English touring car. Or maybe something more exotic. Well, we leave it to you to tell us more about the car and hopefully you can tell us a bit more than that (as we already know the make). Do you know who made the body, or how much power is in the car?

Do you know who owned it at that time and if it is still around?

Many questions to answer and maybe you can. If so, do this before Monday evening in a maximum of 100 words, give us your source so we can check and see next week if you earned the full 5 points in the 6 months competition, sponsored by Hans Compter Rare Cars

Good luck!

This beautiful car is a 1955 Salmson 2300S Cabriolet bodied by Motto of Turin. A similar car (possibly the same) was raced at LeMans. The engine is a 2300cc inline 4 with twin camshafts developing 105 bhp. The gearbox is a clever Cotal semi automatic with electromagnetic clutches controlling the epicyclic gears. The 2300S was sadly the last model produced by Salmson. I'm not sure whether it was a one off, but there are recent photos of a red version without chrome embellishments. I don't know who owned it but at LeMans it was driven by Jean-Paul Colas.

Sources... I had a good idea what the car was and this was confirmed and extra details given by these websites:

Dear Postwarclassic-team,

Ca, c’est difficile:
Could this be a Lancia Aurelia Spider with an one-off-body ...? No!
We see the tribune of the racecourse of Longchamp, Paris. Regarding this I suppose, this is a Pegaso (horse of the greek mythology) Z102 with one-off-bodywork (Touring? Serra? Pinninfarina?)
The Pegaso Z-102 was constructed like a racing car in the former Hispano-Suiza factory in barcelona between 1951 and 1958.
V8 with dohc in different sizes, up to 3.178 ccm and 360 hp, 5speeder, the fastest reaching up to 250 km/h. Too expensive, so around 100 cars had been built, very few convertibles.

Best regards
Fritz

P.S.
Sources: Longchamp is known, Pegaso also, data to the Z102 is from german Wikipedia...

This is the Salmson Barquette 2300 Grand Sport shown on the 1955 Paris Salon, price 2,500,000 Francs. Powered by a 2.3-litre four of 125 hp, it reached 200 kph. It looks like a chrome-clad version of the 2300 Sport barchetta built by Motto for the 1955 Mille Miglia, also driven at the 1955 Le Mans endurance race by Jean-Paul Colas from Radio Monte-Carlo who commented the race in a live broadcast. But as there are photos of both cars with the same license plate (2167DW75), there probably was only one car. It still exists in racing car guise, chassis 85016.
