Tough to Crack: Puzzle #90

This week we present a nice looking sports car. The designer's wife is in the driving seat with their baby son just visible on her lap. Our man in question commissioned a small London firm of coachbuilders to create this one-off body in alloy. It was the start of a short but distinctive design career that produced a small number of notable cars. He then switched to a totally different field of work and passed away earlier this year.

We won't give you any more clues, but the wheels of course point in the direction of the mechanical specification. So, what is it and who was the man responsible? When you think you know, post in your comment at least the marque, model designation, designer, its engine and the coachbuilder. To give yourself an edge, add some trivia, the more obscure the better. The winner will receive the infamous PostWarClassic T-shirt, please first read The Rules under 'Read More'. Results will be published next Saturday, August 23.
