Tough to Crack Quiz # 18

Way back in the long hot summer of 1968 we encountered this extravagant sports car near Brussels. Not knowing what it was we flagged it down to ask the driver what it was. He was a very friendly chap, eager to share his knowledge with a still very young editor RB (seen here standing behind the car). The owner told us that it was not a special, as we thought, but that it was a real production car, available in kit-form. The engineer who created it in 1964 was an ex-Ford France employee who made a complex tubular chassis with fiberglass bodywork. There was VW running gear and a choice of engines from either Renault, Ford, NSU and Peugeot. Later we learned that from 1971 the company was renamed and that production ended in 1974. Again, just like the previous quiz, we don’t think any photoshopping was needed, but a little word of warning: because it was a kit-car there are some variations between the models. To earn the PostWarClassic T-shirt tell us the make, the name of the engineer who created it and what more you know about it, but do not use more than 100 words. Please send us your answer by using the Contact Form before Monday August 8th and mention Tough Quiz # 18.
