A Friday Twin Mystery (update: 1940 Nash Ambassador Six-Series 4020)

Identifying US built cars of the forties is not our strong point. And this picture forms a double challenge. With two identical nearly new cars , presented to us by an elegant lady in new winter coat (see her slim ankle reflecting in the door's paintwork) and het little or twin(?) sister sort of shy on the side.
