Chassis No. WDBPJ74J83A037186
The C215-generation Mercedes-Benz CL distilled the marque's flagship S-Class technology into a pillarless grand touring coupe, and in CL 55 AMG form, it became one of the defining high-performance Mercedes-Benz models of the early 2000s, powered by AMG's supercharged M113K V8 delivering 493 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque.
This example goes a step further through Brabus's K8 treatment. Long regarded as one of the foremost independent Mercedes-Benz tuning houses, Brabus applied its typically highly engineered approach to the already-potent AMG coupe. The K8 package fitted to this car encompasses a Brabus-tuned ECU, supercharger underdrive pulley, high-flow air filters, Brabus sport suspension, and 20-inch Brabus multi-piece wheels. In this specification, the supercharged 5.4-liter V8 was rated by Brabus at 550 horsepower and 601 pound-feet of torque, delivered through AMG's five-speed Speedshift automatic transmission.
Chassis 037186 was completed for the U.S. market in Brilliant Silver Metallic over Charcoal AMG leather and was delivered in April 2003. Its CARFAX Vehicle History Report records long-term California history, with early servicing performed consistently through Fletcher Jones Motorcars of Newport Beach. The report also notes a single entry of minor damage on 12 October 2010. Acquired by the previous owner in 2019, maintenance reported during this ownership included replacement of the transmission mount, battery, spark plugs, front brake pads, radiator, and valve cover gaskets in March 2019.
Having entered The Patina Collective in 2024, this Brabus-modified CL 55 AMG now shows just over 113,464 miles at the time of cataloging and represents an honest, driver-quality expression of early-2000s Mercedes-AMG excess, sharpened by one of Germany's best-known performance specialists.
